The Master of Accountancy (MAcc) degree is intended to provide students with the knowledge and skills consistent with a professional graduate degree. The program is designed to prepare students for careers in public or private accounting and enable them to achieve career advancement in the accounting profession. While providing an in-depth study in basic areas of accounting, through its electives, it permits specialization in one of two emphases: public accounting (including tax and financial accounting) and international accounting (relevant to public and private accounting). To implement this mission, the MAcc program is constructed around the following objectives and outcomes:
The MAcc program is composed of 30 graduate semester hours (not including foundation courses), including a 24 hour Accounting core and six hours of approved graduate business electives.
